What is the cost to participate in Teen Israel Academy?
Generous donor funding allows us to heavily subsidize the program. The cost to participate is $360 per participating family, and includes five teen sessions and four parent sessions. Need-based scholarships are available.
Who is eligible to apply to the program?
The program is open to Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach high school students, with preference given to juniors and seniors. This program has an intimate, seminar-style format which allows students to engage deeply with the topics at hand. As such, slots are very limited and serious applicants are encouraged to apply early. Those who are offered a spot must commit to attending all four in-person sessions at Greater Miami Jewish Federation, located at 4200 Biscayne Blvd, 33137, as well as one virtual Zoom session.
How do I apply?
You can access the application here or using the "Apply Now" button on the website. The final deadline to apply is September 22, 2025 at 6pm EST. The application review process is rolling and early submission is highly recommended. Final round applicants will be invited to interview as a final step in the process. Accepted students will be notified in early October.
What happens during the parent sessions?
After each session with the teen cohort, Dr. Keren Fraiman facilitates a session with the parents to download and integrate the teachings. These sessions create opportunities for parents to reflect, learn, and meaningfully engage with their teens on these challenging topics at home.
